What Is It?
Located on the Northwest shore of Lake Hancock in Polk County, Circle B Bar Reserve is a former cattle ranch that boasts a variety of plants and animals on 1,267 acres.
Natural Communities
There are many ecosystems within this reserve. Oak Hammock, Freshwater Wetlands and Banana Creek Marsh provide different backdrops in which wildlife live and survive. Banana Creek Marsh alone is composed of 400 acres.
Trails
Providing more than just a bird’s-eye view of the reserve and its inhabitants, Circle B Bar has many trails to hikes. These excursions can be for any level of hiker, as they range from 0.2 miles to 1.3 miles. There are also options for hikes with moderate, little or no shade.
Focus on Nature
If you like a beautiful view, bring your camera or paints and brushes to capture all nature is serving up to you. The trail system provides an abundance of wildlife and wildflowers making this location a favorite among nature artists.
