The relationship between animals and children is truly special. Sometimes, they speak a language only they understand—and it doesn’t always involve words. It can be just a look.

Angus Allen Vinson, nicknamed Gus, was helping his grandparents with early morning barn chores. He especially loves horses. Dressed in his pajamas and rubber boots, Gus—17 months old at the time—happily found a seat in Bailey’s feed bin.

“Gus appears to be telling her about the quality of her feed or contemplating a bite,” says Grandma Sharon Vinson of Okeechobee, who took the photo.
