Islamorada

Lignumvitae Christmas

Join us for the second Lignumvitae Christmas since the dock was repaired after Hurricane Irma. A long-standing tradition to the islands, the event is at Lignumvitae Key State Park and includes island tours, music and festivities with games from the 1930s. Tickets are $20 per person and include a boat ride (with prebooked hourly departures from Robbie’s Marina) to the island. Proceeds help Friends of the Islamorada Area State Parks Inc., a volunteer nonprofit citizens’ support organization created to generate public awareness, education, financial support, preservation and maintenance of local state parks.

13th Annual Holiday Home and Garden Tour 

The Lake Placid Garden Club features five homes and a bonsai garden. Feel free to bring an ornament to add to the Giving Tree at the Holiday Café, and it will be donated to a needy family in time for Christmas. The Holiday Café opens at 10 a.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 103 N. Main Ave. The cafe sells refreshments and unique gifts. Tours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and tickets are available at 863-243-3576 for a donation of $20. Proceeds support scholarships, camperships and sponsorships for local youth.

The Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce offers a weekend of shopping for one-of-a-kind presents. Shop in a relaxed, hassle-free environment in an outdoor setting. The annual event runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features handcrafted Apalachicola specialties, such as baked goods, artwork, wood carving, pottery and knitted goods.

The Port St. Joe Garden Club hosts this annual event 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Garden Center.
